This is more-or-less the companion book to the one I use most often (8 chords 100 songs for GUITAR)I am a worship leader and bi-vocational pastor. I also teach beginning guitar to Junior High & High School students and utilize this book because even novice musicians can follow along. By using this book, budding musicians can participate on the praise team after just a few months of practice.The book is broken up into sections.It starts out with a large section (over 25) of contemporary worship songs (Everlasting God, God of Wonders, Indescribable, etc.), followed by a section of 15-20 well-known and well-loved hymns (Amazing Grace, I'll fly away, The wonderful cross, etc.), then a section of Christmas Carols (Silent Night, First Noel, Away in a Manger, etc. About a dozen or so of them.) and even includes an entire section of children's songs (Jesus Loves Me, The B-I-B-L-E, Father Abraham, etc.) that are VERY useful for the little ones, and even has a small section of well-known patriotic tunes (God Bless America, America the Beautiful, etc.)I own many songbooks that I've acquired over almost 3 decades of playing music. This book is the ONLY one that stays in my guitar case. I buy this one for any of my budding musicians that are learning piano instead of guitar (a wonderful lady here in town teaches beginning piano) It's everything you need with none of the fluff. By far the most useful songbook I've ever owned. I have bought copies for many of my students, and even another worship leader that is a friend of mine. I have been asked to play a few times at different Christian events without any warning (FCA meetings, church camp, etc.), and I just pop this book out & play away!WELL worth the money!

Okay, so this product is tiny. Itty bitty. So small. But the joy it brings is HUGE. I absolutely loved painting my mini Bob Ross paintings. The brush and paints aren't half bad, but you do need to build the paint up a bit the opacity you want from the color. Regardless, awesome product.

I ordered this TINY paint by numbers to go along with my Bob Ross to go on my desk at work. The description says it is small ... that is what you will get. I have not actually painted just yet with the materials. You get three paint by number designs, they are on a cardboard backing. Be sure to hang on to the directions ... they will tell you the paint/numbers for the design (or you can do your own thing ... whatever makes you happy). I show Bob in my picture ... he is sold SEPARATELY, but he is so cute...they are a great combo. Would make a great office gift or white elephant gift.

This is perfect for what I wanted to go with my Bob Ross Funko Pop! It's a great addition to my Funko collection at work and looking at him, and the painting, makes me smile. It took me an hour to paint this picture, while I watched TV, and the trickiest part was the color blending, but that was a fun challenge. Ignore the fact my large tree looks like Godzilla, as my 12 year old pointed out. As Bob says, it's just a happy little accident. I'm looking forward to painting the other two pictures and, for the money, this is just a fun little activity and is perfect for what I wanted it for. Bob standing alone, with just his palette, would have been sad and this completes the set. Thanks!

This is really cute. These are office gift size, like the rack of office gifts you see at Barnes and Nobel. Paintings are roughly business card size.

So it’s hard for me to say anything negative about something that involves Bob Ross but this kit was a lot smaller than I imagined. I was expecting maybe a size of notebook paper but not as small as a deck of cards. I should have read the description better though so it’s not the fault of the seller. Just be aware that it is small! But it’s cute and we will paint it because it’s Bob Ross.

I loved this book. Following Megan’s life arc touched me deeply. I cried and laughed and at times was so profoundly sad. I read this book in three days, loved it and did not want it to end. Megan Griswold's neurotic, hilarious and tender journey toward greater self-awareness had me alternately laughing and shedding tears of empathy. I was hooked from the first page, completely absorbed by her story. She writes with such intimacy and depth, I could visualize the wilds of Patagonia, the homes she lived in, her family, and her lovers' faces. And what a wild ride roller coaster of remedies and emotions she rode in an effort to gain some equilibrium in her life. She's wide open and honest, unafraid to share some truly cringe-worthy (and hilarious) moments from her past. Digging through a trash can and crouching in bushes for less-than-noble reasons (won't spoil with further description) are two that still make me chuckle when I think about them. In the end, the years of soul-searching and analysis pay off -- read the book to find out how. Highly recommend!

I was so excited to read by all the topics listed ...but after reading the book... the whole story.. I didn’t like the way was written at all! Worse book ever! For exemplo, in Ashtanga Yoga page she just mentioned she did in early mornings and that’s is! Waste my time and money in this book!!

This book gave me a great education on the many wellness modalities while keeping me thoroughly entertained. It reminded me in the most heart felt way that Life is not easy for anyone and happiness requires real effort. Luckily Megan shows us that doing the work can be fun and rewarding. This book is a journey worth taking.

This is Berger's fundamental perspective underlying all of his voluminous writings.. His focus is clear in the title. The very way we see "reality" is socially constructed. Almost all of his works deal with Religion--He even writes articles weekly in the American Interest Magazine a website--not free!Berger himself is fluent in several languages. English is not his first language! Because of this language skill Berger is aware of "the linguistic shift that takes place in the nonverbal realm when moving from one language to another" as identified in by Bruce B. Lawrence in his book "Defenders of God." ISBN 0-06-250509-2. (See page 47 at the bottom for the quote. In other words, even from his youth, Berger could sense the way language change changes the way we sense the world. In other words, language is an "interpretive filter."Note the word "sense" was used. It is more comprehensive than "understand."

This work offers a controversial, though fascinating, theory of how society comes to be the way it is. As phenomenologists, Berger and Luckmann are interested in describing the social world. As social theorists, they are interested in explaining what society is. As such, they provide an interesting account for how society comes to be the way it is, how individuals within society come to be the way they are, and how we change. Anybody who is interested in "why must things be this way" will find this work intriguing.Again, the work itself is controversial, but if you are a reader who has an open mind and suspects many aspects of the world are arbitrary, this is a good book for you.

This is a rich compact book. I came across it while doing reading on epistemology. This book is well suited for an organized reading group. It is short but dense and should probably both be read slowly and read again. I have read it without the benefit of a reading group. Until I have read the book again, the best summary I can give is the following passages from the book.“It will be enough, for our purposes, to define ‘reality’ as a quality appertaining to phenomena that we recognize as having a being independent of our own volition (we cannot ‘wish them away’), and to define ‘knowledge’ as the certainty that phenomena are real and that they possess specific characteristics.”“It is our contention, then, that the sociology of knowledge must concern itself with whatever passes for ‘knowledge’ in a society, regardless of the ultimate validity or invalidity (by whatever criteria) of such ‘knowledge.’ And insofar as all human ‘knowledge’ is developed, transmitted and maintained in social situations, the sociology of knowledge must seek to understand the processes by which this is done in such a way that a taken-for-granted ‘reality’ congeals for the man in the street. I have not read the entire book. However, from what I have read so far, I have the impression that the authors have sacrificed scientific clarity and brevity for the sake of a “reader-friendly” style. Unfortunately, the book is exactly because of this style not reader-friendly. One example: After several paragraphs, the authors claim that they have “now introduced three central metaphors” (p. 4). Despite going back several pages, I could not clearly identify these three metaphors. Why do the authors not simply make a statement such as “below, we will introduce the following three central metaphors” and then explain each of them one by one???!!!To be fair: The idea of introducing the major theoreticians and theories of sociology is very good and will benefit any student. This book could help (I have not read the entire book) students writing papers and theses.

This book should be considered absolutely required reading for anyone studying sociology or psychology, or anything else. This book is written so well it elucidates some of the most profound and insightful psycho-social theories in plain english, although some familiarity with basic social science terminology is a prerequisite for thorough comprehension. Its impossible to give a complete synopsis of it in a brief review, but overall the book covers the construction of social reality in complete detail, from institutions to the microsocial world of individual identity construction. The section on society as subjective reality, and the subsection on identity, is of absolute importance for psychologists like myself who work with identity problems like DID. Too often psychotherapy of the self and identity ignores the underlying fact that these are dialectic social products. The foundation of self improvement and change is this awareness of the socially constructed self. This book explains all of this with great clarity and alot of useful examples.

The printing job seemed to be 'subpar:' photos washed out and colors not indicative of the scenery.

So happy with this calendar! It was a great debate, as always in our household, on what kind of calendar to get. We decided on this one and couldn't be happier with it. The boxes are large enough you can write a bunch of things in it if need be and not feel cramped like a lot of other calendars do. The pictures are all gorgeous and great quality except for the last one for next years 4 months. We were disappointed to see that the picture was a bit fuzzy, seems as a complete afterthought & was disappointing after all the other ones were crystal clear and just breathtaking. That is our only gripe with this though. The information you get about the park is minimal but it is still very cool to get something. We love how each month has a different color that compliments the picture of the month too. Very beautiful, wouldn't hesitate to get again!

Really bad quality pictures. Fuzzy. No crisp or clear. Returning.

Calendar has thin pages and the color for the dates is so translucent that it cannot be read from more than two feet away. We have only had it up for 6 hours now and the pages are starting to curl. Very disappointed and will be returning promptly.

When we write an appt in a box, it also shows up faintly on the following month. We're not pressing down hard at all, and we've tried using different pens, but it still leaves an impression. This effectively ruins the following month since you can't erase an impression! We've never had this problem with any other calendar.

Beautiful calendar! I buy this every year!

On the other hand, the artifact that Truly and Mackenzie find--the diary of Truly's aunt who was an immigrant to New England in the ante-bellum era--which reveals a formerly hidden historic event in little Pumpkin Falls is the catalyst for a Nancy Drew-like adventure that borrows a little from Elsie in the 19th century classic WHAT KATY DID. [Spoiler: Chapter 1 will give you all the clues if you care to spot them.]Verdict: Truly and her friends and family are still some of my favorite people. This series will be okay if they softpedal the teen romance tedium.

This was such a cute book and fun read! I enjoyed that there were two mysteries to solve as it kept things more interesting. I’m a tad history obsessed, so I was very delighted to see some very exciting historical aspects brought into the story. A great middle grade read!

Another delightful novel from the talented Heather Vogel Frederick! The second book in the new Pumpkin Falls mystery series is everything a reader could hope for. As usual, Frederick provides an engaging story with multi-dimensional characters. Any reader who loved the Mother-Daughter Book Club series and was left wishing for more will find that this and Absolutely Truly will give them a new story that is as satisfying as MDBC. This book makes me want to move to New Hampshire.

Like the other two in the series (The Summer Queen and The Winter Crown), The Autumn Throne takes you back in time to medieval England, France, Normandy Germany and even the road to Jerusalem. Miss Chadwick's writing is such that you feel you are there travelling with Eleanor (Alienor), living with her in her prison, listening to her giving orders and commands, watching her rule the Angevin Empire in her son's stead. You feel the bleak cold of winter and the simmering heat of summer. The terror of impending war, the sadness of imminent death.There are so many versions written about the life of Eleanor of Aquitaine. And Miss Chadwick's, to me, is one of the best two. The other being the one written by Sharon Kay Penman. Five stars.

This is a very well written, researched, and intriguing third book that details the always active life of one of England's most renowned and intriguing queens. She was the wife of two kings, the queen of two great countries, England and France, and the mother of eight children, most of whom became kings or queens. Her bloodline continues to run through royalty today, I feel certain. You will not want to put this one down. It is a wonderfully educational, insightful, and inspiring book. Kathy R. Blackman

This is the third and last book of the series on Alienor (aka Eleanor) of Aquitaine. It begins when she is imprisoned by by her husband King Henry who flits from one young mistress to another. He tries to get Alienor to move into a convent and free him to marry his current mistress, but she refuses.Alienor is portrayed as a strong woman way ahead of the medieval times in which she lived. She challenged men and stood up for what she wanted or thought was right. Alienor was also strong when she became the Dowager Queen. She knew how to fight for her lands and who she could rely on. She was physically strong too, as she traveled by horse long distances in bitterly cold weather even as an old woman.Alienor also defended her children through thick and thin. I found it interesting to see her emotions as she saw the tensions and arguments between her sons Richard and John. Like many mothers, she wanted to believe in the goodness of her children. She defended John even when he was conniving against her favorite son Richard and mistreating others.I also enjoyed reading about her tender relationships with grandchildren and friendships with various women and William Marshall.

I am a fan of Elizabeth Chadwick. I especially like her books on William Marshall. Her "Eleanor of Aquitane" trilogy is not her best work. Maybe the fact that I have read so extensively on the Plantagents in general and Henry II and Eleanor in particular, sort of colored my enjoyment. Ms. Chadwick tends to focus only on the main people and not really touch on the secondary characters. For instance, in this book, she never mentions Eleanor's middle daughter, also named Eleanor, until she has to because Eleanor's daughter--her granddaughter, is going to marry the French prince. I mean I knew about Eleanor (her daughter) from previous reading but to a first time reader, they might be confused because there is no previous mention of her in this book.

This is the last in a series of three novels about the life of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Skillfully rendered, this is a portrait of a woman who was larger than life - If someone had written this as a Hollywood script, it would have been dismissed out of hand as being way over the top. And yet, the author has merely recounted history, filling in some of the most intimate details where facts are open to question. Eleanor (or as she is called here, Alienor) - defies and exceeds all expectations of women, both for the twelfth century and for the twenty-first. She was a fiery combination of regal bearing and passion, as well as an astute politician (who happened to bear nine children while married to Henry II.) She endured unimaginable trials and tribulations, easily keeping pace with the men who surrounded her, and who tried and failed to keep her down. I highly recommend reading all three novels. And while I don't cry at the drop of a hat, I had a big cry at the end of this one - I hated saying goodbye to this remarkable person!

Since I am a student of history and Eleanor of Aquitaine in particular I knew I would love this book. Elizabeth Chadwick and Sharon Kay Penman are my two all time favorite authors of historical novels. This book brings Eleanor to life in a totally different way than Sharon did and she did it effortlessly. However when dealing with history and historical figures,unfortunately the reader pretty much knows the fate of the characters. It then depends on the author to make so interesting that you just have to keep reading. Elizabeth Chadwick does this very well. To anyone who loves history or wants to know more about Eleanor and Henry II and their children...I would highly recommend this books. The novel flows along like a summer stream in which you just want to stay immersed in on a hot summer day. This was truly an enjoyable book, very well written and will definitely hold the reader's attention.
