I got this when it was on sale, I'm a Funko collector and thought it would be interesting to check out. I wasn't really a fan of anything in here besides TMNT, but surprisingly the TMNT issue was not my favorite part of this collection. I didn't read the Ghostbusters issue, I'm saying that upfront, Ghostbusters just isn't something I've ever really been interested in, so I don't have very much to say about it. The TMNT issue takes place in the original cartoon universe and while I liked it okay, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was funny, but the comedy mostly comes from the references to all the cliches from the old show and I liked that to some extent, I just wished there was a little more to the humor besides that. I didn't like it as much as I wanted to, but it was okay. The real surprises for me were the X-Files and Judge Dread issues. The X-Files is a show that I have seen a couple episodes of, I can appreciate it, but it isn't something I watch regularly or anything. The X-Files issue is made up of shorter stories and I really enjoyed them. They're all really funny and I was surprised that I ended up liking it more than the TMNT issue. Judge Dread was also made up of shorter stories, and they were also really funny, I loved the one with the dog. The Strawberry Shortcake issue was okay, again I'm not a big fan so I don't really know anything about Strawberry Shortcake, but it was enjoyable enough. The art for all of these are all done in slightly different versions of the Funko Pop style, I thought it was pretty cool, but if you're not really a fan of Funko Pops, then you probably won't like it very much.Overall this was an okay collection, but I really only recommend it if you're looking for some laughs and are a Funko collector and fan, and a fan of at least two or three of the franchises in here.

It is my view that folktales - tales of such quality that people kept the story alive for centuries - are excellent literature for people of any age. Anne Cameron aims her retellings of Northwest Native tales at a young audience but all of us can enjoy all of them.In this tale, Spider Woman saves the earth from the birds of torment - Spider Woman uses a spider web and a tall tree to hold the earth in place - and to put most birds of torment into their proper place on the other side of the sky blanket. An aside - one bird of tormet not expelled is tooth-ache, the subject of the oldest known written tale (from Mesopatamea).

I have lived here for over 23 years and this book has all the information that I would love to share with newcomers. It's well informed and comprehensive as well as a fun read. They cover all the major aspects of daily life whether you are planning on being here for just a month to a lifetime. I am so glad they took the time to compile and share this great local info. If you're moving to CRThis book is awesome! If you're moving to CR, especially anywhere in the Guanacaste region, this is the perfect book. It's an easy read, has tons of super useful information, but isn't so long that you'll never finish it. Trying to navigate the banking system? Thinking of renting or buying? Wondering if you need to be fluent in Spanish? Do you need insurance? Want to know about residency, how to do proper "border runs," which is the best local school for your child..... all mixed in with great anecdotes? Cut the Crap makes an excellent read on the airplane and is the perfect book or gift for anyone who's ever considered moving to Costa Rica. Two thumbs up - don't miss this book! Linda W. I Loved the intro and first part of the book! Very informative! Everything you need to know and more! I Loved the intro and first part of the book. A wonderful way to save a marriage and such a brave family! A must-read for anyone considering moving.Chad B Great book and very informative! I bought this book before taking a trip down to Costa Rica because if I move or don't move there is a lot of very helpful information on how the country works and local options. We tried out the food suggestion and got pineapple pie at Nogui's and that was simply amazing. Also as a side note I am actually writing this review from Tamarindo, Costa Rica. My favorite part of the book is when they are trying to out run a forest fire while leaking gasoline out of their vehicle. Elizabeth Gunton-Bunn Definitely recommended for anyone who is considering the move themselves A very detailed and honest explanation of moving to Costa Rica! Definitely recommended for anyone who is considering the move themselves. It was even fun (and informative) for someone who has lived in CR for 8+ years to read.PPeters Fun, fast, interesting read! Interesting read. I've visited Costa Rica (Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo) a few times but never thought of moving there. I've met a few American's that have made the same choice. We travel to CR yearly and I’ve contemplated buying a home there, expanding my business, or investing in a greater way. This book covers many of the common concerns, as well as some of the hinky laws and banking issues that make it difficult as a US citizen. I’m still on the fence, but have a better understanding than from what I’d obtained down there. Would love to take these folks to dinner in Playa Langosta; they have a great consulting opportunity with those of us baby boomers considering the plunge! Pura Vida!

A lot of good ideas....but the authors aren't good negotiators....they said to expect to pay about $85. a day for a rental car ... I left for Costa Ricatwo days after I got the book in the mail....and I got a car for $38.00 per day. I have a Capital One Venture card ( which is a card that coversphysical damage to the vehicle your renting ), so all I needed was the liability ( which by the way was the same card the Page's said they used ??).They will try to hit you with a huge damage deposit (like $5,000 !) I talked them down to $3,000. That's a deposit you get back a few days after renting.

Interesting read. I've visited Costa Rica (Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo) a few times but never thought of moving there. I've met a few American's that have made the same choice. I enjoyed learning what's it's like to be an expat in Costa Rica.

This is a good, quick read for anyone thinking of relocating or even visiting Costa Rica for an extended period of time. Although most of the “action” takes place around a small area of the country the book gives a good overview of what to expect when in CR.

I bought this book before taking a trip down to Costa Rica because if I move or don’t move there is a lot of very helpful information on how the country works and local options. We tried out the food suggestion and got pineapple pie at Nogui’s and that was simply amazing. Also as a side note I am actually writing this review from Tamarindo, Costa Rica. David and I are retiring to Costa Rica, and we have purchased books in the past, on line search, and this book is full of information for the common traveler or someone considering moving to Costa Rica. We worth the purchased, we are very happy that we came across this book. This book covers from hotels, to grocery's, cars....

Very informative...LOVE the title...too expensive
